“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”
[ Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:261 ]
“You will never achieve righteousness until you donate some of what you cherish. And whatever you give is certainly well known to Allah.”
[ Surah Ali 'Imran, 3:92 ]
“They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves.”
[ Surah Al-Hashr, 59:9 ]
“[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself and not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded.”
[ Surah Al-Lail, 92:18–21 ]
Masjid As-Sunnah, also known as Markaz Al-Madina, has been a pillar of the San Diego Muslim community for nearly a decade. It is far more than a place of worship, it is a home, a sanctuary, and a hub where families, youth, and individuals come together to nurture their faith, seek knowledge, and strengthen the bonds of community.
Over the years, our masjid has offered a wide spectrum of programs, from the five daily Ṣalāh and Jum‘ah prayers to Qur’ān memorization, Arabic lessons, youth mentorship, and women’s Ḥalaqahs. These programs have left a lasting impact: shaping generations of learners, fostering spiritual growth, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who have walked through our doors.
Today, the most urgent step before us is to secure the land that our masjid currently sits on. Without ownership, our community’s future remains uncertain. By purchasing this land, we will ensure that Masjid As-Sunnah is permanently established in San Diego as a house of Allah, safeguarded for our children, our families, and generations to come, insha’Allah.
Owning this land means stability, growth, and independence. It will allow us to expand our prayer halls, add classrooms for Qur’ān and Arabic programs, dedicate spaces for youth, sisters, and new Muslims, and provide a permanent foundation for future community services. Supporting this project is more than helping purchase property, it is an investment in a legacy of faith, learning, and service. It is a ṣadaqah jāriyah that will continue to benefit you, your family, and the ummah long after we are gone. Every dollar given strengthens the foundation of our community and brings us closer to securing this blessed house of worship.
Join us in this historic effort. Together, we can purchase this land and ensure that Masjid As-Sunnah remains a permanent home for faith, community, and growth in San Diego, today and for generations to come, insha’Allah.
